On my way home from the farmers market yesterday I was greeted by a cheery bicycle bell on Market Street. It was Jenny Park! I had the pleasure of pedaling down Market Street and across the Walnut Street Bridge with her where we stopped to take this photo.
Jenny and I were introduced some time back by a mutual friend. She finished a graduate program in local government management and works as a multimodal specialist at Outdoor Chattanooga. Most recently though, she practically planned, coordinated and orchestrated the Tennessee Bike Summit. !!! AND it was the week of her birthday!
She’s an inspiration and great support for the cycling lifestyle in Chattanooga, not to mention a total badass who’s always stylin’ in sassy dresses on the bike…and a little birdie told me she loves to karaoke.
We should have gotten a photo of her outfit—she wore perfect pastels and was keeping it classy on an Outdoor Chattanooga Bianchi Milano on her way to teach her first Street Smarts Cycling Seminar last night!
It’s always a delight to share part of a commute with a friend and catch up—especially Jenny. She’s part of a powerful movement of women cyclists (and cyclists from my generation) who I believe will greatly influence cycling culture in Chattanooga. If you see her out pedaling, wave! And check out what I’m sure will be chic pedaling attire.
